SmartBolts – a Visual Indication System that turns the top head of a bolt from red to black as you tighten it. 

Lighting fixtures in runways, taxiways, and other in-pavement locations are critical to the safe operation of planes and machinery at airports. 

​

If these fixtures become loose they can create dangerous safety conditions while planes are in-flight, landing, or taxiing on the runway. 

​

However, maintenance of these fixtures is difficult due to their location in high-traffic areas. SmartBolt DTI provides visual feedback that these light fixtures are properly secured and immediately detects if the joint assembly has been compromised – leading to more efficient maintenance and a safer environment.

​

They do not need to be replaced with every inspection, saving you money and time.  You won’t have to use the torque wrench on every fitting to loosen it and re-tighten it to 25nm, you can just look at the bolts instead, safe in the knowledge that if the colour is black the bolt is tight and no action is required at all. 

​

The unique visual Indication System provides a fast and easy indication of how tense the bolt is by changing colour as it gets tighter.  Starting at Red (= 25%), to 50% then 75% and finally Black when the bolt is at 100%

ALS30: Mini CCR IGBT
 Works on a circuit of up to 1kW
 Works from a standard 230V 50/60Hz a.c.  @1KW supply.
 The ALS30 has one internal protection fuse which on occasion, after prolonged use
or over voltage and open circuit fault conditions, this may blow.
 Will operate Halogen or LED
 Allows users to test and fault find in a substation or bench conditions to ensure lights
work before being installed.

Airfield Lighting Systems HV probe and proving unit to provide a safe and easy way of proving circuits dead. The ALS HV Probe and proving unit have been designed to provide a safe and easy way of proving circuits dead. They prove from 55VAC to 5000VAC. Each unit undergoes rigorous testing before sale and is serialized for traceability.

The XM001 True RMS Ammeter was designed and developed to provide accurate commissioning and set-up of CCRs for airfield ground lighting, specifically but not exclusively to be able to read the chopped waveform produced by phase-controlled thyristors used in most CCRs.

The XM001 being an in-line meter avoids the inconsistencies often associated with clamp-meters. The standard unit is for 6.6 Amp circuits, but we can produce ammeters for other currents (6.0Amps and 12Amps).

Airfield Lighting Systems current meter and clamp, digital meter to measure circuits and set up output current from the CCR. The ALS Current Meter is a hand held, digital meter designed to indicate current by direct measurement, or by using a current clamp, to within ± 1% of the correct value. This can be achieved even when measuring waveforms generated by Constant Current Regulators (CCR) with crest factors not exceeding 3.2, the maximum allowed in IEC61822. This small, portable instrument can also be used to safely set up the output from a CCR. The Current Meter is also included in the ALS sign Maintenance Kit.
